What a beautiful day to travel to Parkanaur Forest Park in search of the Gruffalo, one of our favourite Julia Donaldson characters. We divided into small groups and went into the classroom to learn about some of the creatures that lived in the forest.
Following our snack we set out on the Gruffalo Trail, looking for clues to the whereabouts of the Gruffalo. In a clearing we sat down and Stephen retold the story of the Gruffalo, it was just magical. We made log pile houses and then continued on the trail which brought us back to the classroom in time for lunch.
We were getting ready to head back to school when who should be sighted but the Gruffalo, who was very friendly and posed for photographs with our very excited pupils. What a fabulous day!
